We all know Alexander Artemev's pommel horse abilities, and Tim McNeill has also stepped up as a world contender on this event. But the USA STILL needs depth here, and we'll likely be looking for some other guys to help out at the worlds and Olympics on this event over the next couple of years. Pommel horse was the USA men's NEMESIS in Beijing. Although they still won the bronze medal thanks to the brilliance of Sasha Artemev, this event clearly still remains the most important one for the USA to strengthen. At the recent Winter Cup, some new stars stepped up and proved that things are finally looking up for the USA on this event.

After posting my last blog, I was reminded by a couple of posters that there are some juniors from 2009 who are turning senior this year and thus are eligible for both the American Cup and the world championships. After taking a closer look at Aly Raisman of Brestyan's, I completely agree that she could be a dark-horse pick for the second spot in Massachusetts.
