Straps Reverse Hecht Timers

This entry is part 11 of 12 in the series: Straps Skills

The straps training is a convenient way to practice and develop reverse hechts timers without burning the hands.  At first the gymnasts may practice hecht timers from big swings emphasizing a quick shoulder angle opening and a change from hollow to tight arch body positions before the swings moves under the horizontal.  The early tap that facilitates stopping and changing the giant direction during the front ascending phase and teh release air time.  2nd clip  Once the athletes have a fair understanding of hecht swing timers they can start performing hecht timers from back gaints.  Again it is important to emphasize an early tap set up before the body swings down underthe horizontal line  and a quick tap stop and change from hollow to tight arch in the front ascending phase.
