It’s my last major push. I can’t promise you won’t ever see my code of points pop up again, but at least for now, it’s my final big experiment. I’ve already put my code to the test on women’s bars, men’s high bar, and men’s pommel horse.
Already this weekend, we started seeing a surge in orders for our Holiday Gymnastics Equipment and Mats, and we haven't even really started all of our promotions yet! I thought I'd better let all of our American Gymnast followers know about our specials this season so you have as much advance notice as possible to act on these deals.
It’s Kyla Ross’s breakout year. In addition to being the 2009 U.S. junior national champion and 2009 U.S. Classic champion, she can now add the title of 2009 Junior Pan American Games champion as well. We’ve seen the same string of wins many times before – all the great ones seem to burst on the scene in a similar fashion.
Our first routines under Andy’s COP: Women’s Uneven Bars So who really won the 2008 Olympic uneven bars gold medal? Let’s see what my scoring system has to say about it!
I’ve gotten various types of feedback about my Code of Points (some very encouraging and some a bit harsh…), so I decided that the only way for me to prove whether a system like this could possibly work is to put it into action. So I did!
I’ve had it. I’ve given this code of points three years, and something’s still not right. We’ve complained long enough. We’ve made it abundantly clear that we miss the artistry, we miss the originality, and we miss the 10.
Andy’s Angle on the 2009 Worlds Part 2…
Well now that the dust has settled from the world championships, I wanted to give some of my random thoughts on the competition – both the good and the bad!
Yesterday, USA racked up 2 more medals in Day 1 of the World Championships Event Finals. Kayla Williams won Gold on Vault and Rebecca Bross won a Bronze on Uneven Bars - way to go USA!
For a chance to win, just join the American Gymnast Facebook Fan Page - it's Free! Every time USA wins a medal at the 2009 World Championships, American Gymnast will randomly select one of our Facebook Fan Page Members to win a $100 (Gold Medal), $50 (Silver Medal), or $25 (Bronze Medal) Gift Certificate.
If you’re anything like me, there’s nothing better than cheering on the USA during a major international competition like the World Championships and Olympic Games!
